Hosts must be physically present at the property to create a listing. The app captures GPS coordinates and verifies the address is real.

All listing photos and videos are captured in real-time through the app with embedded GPS and timestamps. No recycled or stolen photos.
Meter Debt Scan
The electricity meter is checked for outstanding debt before a listing goes live. No surprise bills waiting for new tenants.
Noise Level Measurement

Finding a flatmate on WhatsApp groups is a gamble. You don't know if they're clean, quiet, or even real. Our algorithm scores every potential match across 7 measurable factors and flags dealbreakers before you waste time.
Hard dealbreakers — gender mismatch, smoking conflict, age out of range — short-circuit to 0% immediately. Soft conflicts like "Early Bird vs Night Owl" reduce the score but don't eliminate the match. You see the full breakdown before connecting.
Why We Built This
Trust shouldn't be

Mushrooms started from a simple observation: millions of Nigerians search for apartments every year, and most of them are terrified of getting scammed. The fear is justified — rental fraud is so common that "don't pay until you see the keys" is a survival rule, not advice.
We asked a different question: what if every listing was verified before it went live? What if the host's identity was confirmed, the photos were captured live at the property, the meter was checked for debt, and your payment was held in escrow until you confirmed move-in?
That's what Mushrooms is. Not another classified board where anyone can post anything. A structured rental market where trust is built into every transaction. Where a verification score tells you how much due diligence has been done. Where your money doesn't touch the host's account until you're standing in the apartment you were promised.
We also noticed that the most affordable way to live in Lagos is to share — but finding a compatible flatmate is its own nightmare. So we built a matching algorithm that scores compatibility across 7 factors, surfaces dealbreakers upfront, and lets you split rent with someone you've been algorithmically vetted against.
The result is a platform that serves both sides: seekers get verified listings and escrow protection, hosts get NIN-verified tenants and automated agreements. Both sides get transparency. Neither side gambles.
